Rabia Free Hospital

In 1958 Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah inaugrated the Public chest clinic #2 situated at Farooq Gunj, Misri Shah, Lahore. This clinic was running under the supervision of Lahore district T.B. Association, which was only for the treatment of T.B. Patients. There were a lot of T.B. Patients in the area. At that time only screening facility was available for the patients. L.H.V. use to visit door to door to talk with the patients. Clinic property was on let and its case of possession was pending in the court, whom decision declared in the favour of other party. With the help of balef winning party threw out all the clinic goods on the road. Right at that moment when they were throwing out the clinic goods on the road Mehar Muhammad Younas and his other family members were passing near them. They purchased a building and settled the clinic there, all the expenses beared by Muhammad Younas and his family. In 1982 Minister of Aukaf Zakir Hussain inaugurated the clinic and the keys of this clinic presented to him under the name of Rabia Free Clinic.

Due to large number of patients, current building was too small. Once again Model Steel Group purchased land for the clinic and extended the area of clinic. A vocational school for the girls also started in the same building. A quality lab was also established to facilitate the patients.

Once again in 2002 Rabia Hospital was renovated the building and equipped this clinic with the modern medical machines and started new unit like x-ray, ECG, Ultra Sound, Dental Unit with the aim to provide best medical facilities to the patients and also provided latest sewing machines to the vocational school. Now the clinic is working as an out door hospital.
